Greg's Web World

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by. Here is some info about who I am and what this site is all about. The most relevant info is towards the top and the more sundry items towards the bottom.

Any problems, thoughts, or questions? Please contact me. Comments and all kinds of feedback are very welcome.

Vision of Greg's Web World - To design sites to be as usable, functional, and attractive as possible, balancing content with creativity, the result being superior web sites that stand out among their peers.

Site Map - This site is divided into five sections: samples, strategy, resume, contact, and site info.

  1. Samples - Contains links to other websites I created or helped create plus art samples.
  2. Strategy - The process I use when doing web design. It also houses my thoughts and opinions on how a website should look and operate.
  3. Resume - My resume. Pretty self-explanatory. The resume includes some of my skills, education, training, experience, and career goals.
  4. Contact - Several e-mail links with various subjects, all to my address.
  5. Site Info - What you're reading now. Vision statement, site creation tools, about me, etc.

Generic site info - This site was begun in mid 1999. All of the graphics, HTML coding, JavaScript coding, and layout are my original work. Nothing was lifted or copied from other sources. The same is true for sites linked to my samples page, except where noted on those sites.

Site designer - Greg. I have a lovely wife and a stripey cat named Doctor Peter Jones. I like to play guitar. Petey hates taking a bath.

Site Creation Tools - All HTML done in text editors in conjunction with Mozilla and/or Internet Explorer and/or Netscape Navigator 4.x. All of the graphics have been created and optimized on Microsoft Image Composer and Adobe PhotoShop.

Recommended Browser - I recommend 4.x and higher browsers. They support more design features. If you are a web junkie, might I suggest going to Mozilla.org and downloading the Mozilla Browser.

Recommended HTML Tutorial - I recommend that absolute beginners go to www.htmlgoodies.com and go through Joe Burns' seven day series on HTML. Dr. Burns does a very good job of laying it all out in an easy and understandable way.
